Advocacy & Capacity Building
Chairman CMF, Dr. J. S. Yadav has been the team Leader/ key anchor/ resource person for the following advocacy and capacity building workshops:
1. UNICEF Polio Eradication Programme- Media Advocacy Workshops
Chairman CMF, Dr. J. S. Yadav, is associated as a consultant for “Support the Polio Program” of UNICEF India from June 2009 till date. Planned, organized and conducted a number of regional media advocacy workshops in different parts of the country. These included:
a. Five UNICEF workshops on Advocacy and Skill development of senior journalists and editors at Patna, Lucknow, Delhi, Amritsar and Bangalore.
b. Three workshops on Advocacy and Skill development of Professors of Journalism & Mass Communication at Bangalore, Kolkatta and Shimla.
c. Seven UNICEF workshops on advocacy and skill development for All India Radio program producers of Prasar Bharati at Lucknow, Muradabd,Patna, Shimla, Udaipur, Mumbai and Goa.
d. Senior member of the International Team for Annual Review of UNICEF Polio Communication during 2009 & 2010.
e. One National Innovative IEC Designing Workshop- Polio Eradication- a UNICEF workshop for young artists for creating innovative IEC materials for polio campaign. Role and process of formative research and pre testing in designing of appropriate and effective
2. Two Media Consultations & Workshops on Child Rights & Reporting on Children, Organized by UNICEF & Information and Public Relation Department, Government of Jharkhand, Ranchi; 22nd November to 24th November (1st Batch) and 25th November to 27th November (2nd Batch) 2010.
3. Population, Health and Development- Advocacy Programme with Elected Representatives. Organized several workshops in different parts of the country.
Chairman CMF, Dr. J. S Yadav has been associated for the last four years with Indian Association of Parliamentarians for Population and Development (IAPPD) in conducting Advocacy Workshops for elected representatives on Population, health and development.
Have conducted a number of sensitization and advocacy workshops for elected members of Parliament, State Assemblies and District Panchyats. The themes covered were Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), HIV/ AIDs, NRHM. Population, health and development.
4. Sensitization and Advocacy Workshop on Polio for Elected Representative of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs).
Organized one day workshop for elected representatives of District Sharsha in Bihar, in December 2009, under the IAPPD and sponsored by UNICEF, India.
5. Grand Trunk Road Improvement Project: Consultancy Service for Road Safety (Public Education Campaign) for Delhi- Mumbai- Chennai Sector of Golden Quadrangle.
World Bank/ National Highways Authority of India (Ministry of Shipping, Road Transport & Highways) awarded the project to Intercontinental Consultants and Technocrats Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi & JPS Associates (P) Ltd. New Delhi.
CMF Chairman, Dr. J. S. Yadav, was the Team Leader of the Project. The project was of 18 months (2007-08)and involved:
•Preparing campaign strategy and detail action plan
•Designing, preparing production of campaign materials
•Execution of the road safety campaign in three phases and
•Monitoring & evaluation of the campaign
It also involved preparation, presentation to NHAI/ World bank concerned authorities, finalization and timely submission of:
•Bi-monthly Monitoring / Progress Reports
•Mid-term Evaluation Report and
•Final Evaluation Report
Eight Regional Seminars were organized on four different themes:
a. Media and Ethics
b. Information Technology for Social Empowerment
c. Empowerment of Dalits and Role of Media
d.SEZ and Role of Media
These Regional Seminars were sponsored by Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES- German Foundation) and were held at Gurgaon, New Delhi, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Lucknow, Varanasi and Patna.
