Prof. Uma Yadav - M. Sc & PG Diploma in Development Communication

Ms. Uma Yadav is a senior media professional teaching, training, research and writing on communication and development issues. She actively worked for women and child rights. Her expertise is in documenting and writing research evidence based features and news reports both in English and Hindi for print and electronic media.

Worked as an Associate Editor of Young Indian, the weekly in Hindi and English. These weeklies were edited and published by the former Prime Minister, Shri Chandrashkher. She was responsible for the contents, design and publication of both Hindi & English editions of the Young Indian. In addition, she contributed many special reports and news stories on development issues like rural drinking water, rural poverty, literacy, Panchayati Raj, media, development, girl child, women etc.

Ms. Yadav also published and edited, Gramjan, a fortnightly in Hindi for seven years focusing on rural social & development issues.

For the last over 15 years Ms. Yadav is the Executive Director of Communication Management Foundation (CMF) and was closely associated with planning, execution, and report writing of different programs / projects undertaken by CMF.

Ms. Yadav has rich experience of working with slums dwellers and underprivileged communities. She has coordinated many community projects on Anganwadi / ICDS program, adult literacy, health and hygiene, women skill development, nutrition and child care, gender equity, and poverty alleviation and development programs.

Ms. Yadav is also associated for the last 30 years with running of a school, Sangam School, at Village Indiri, in Nooh district for the underprivileged students from in Mewat area. The school is being run on charity and voluntary contribubution by friends of Sangam Foundation. Ms. Uma Yadav is one the founders and General Secretary of the Sangam Foundation.
